legallyblonde36 Weight loss question Mar 3, 2010 8:08 AM I've just started a diet/exercise routine last month. According to the scale I lost 7 lbs in February, but I haven't SEEN any changes at all yet. My question is, how long has it taken you guys to SEE a result from weight loss? I've recently stepped up my cardio & weight lifting hoping that will help. I'm anxious for my clothes to fit better & just wondered how long most people go before that happens.   Thanks in advance for your answers!
kimmyk10 Stopping late night snacking? Feb 25, 2010 8:19 PM     So I have been trying to eat better and count my calorie input/output for the past month or so, I am even keeping a food journal.  I am usually pretty good throughout the day...that is until about 8pm rolls around.  I become this ravaging, hungry lady who will eat anything sweet in sight.  I will sometimes undo my entire days worth of diet and exercise because my sweet tooth is so bad. So I was wondering if you guys and gals have any pointers that you all use to avoid late-night snacking? Or if you have any low-cal snacks that won't have me working out extra hard the next day to make up for my late night binging?
likeafox Building muscle but not losing fat. Grrr Feb 22, 2010 10:34 AM This is my second time around trying to lose the weight. Just wondering how normal this is or whether I should be doing something different. Any feedback would be appreciated. I've been going to the gym 3 x per week since the beginning of January. A typical workout includes 40 minutes of moderate to intense cardio with another 30 mnutes or so weights (day 1 - back, chest. day 2 - legs. day 3 - arms).  I do a variety of cardio depending on my mood. It's usually one, some or all of the follwing: recumbant bike, elliptical, stairmaster. But I really don't like to run. So far I've been building muscle just fine, but the fat doesn't seem to be going anywhere (maybe a wee bit but nothing substantial). Should I just keep on keeping on or change something up?
Meags105 ideas to help "sound proof" a small eliptical or bike... Feb 22, 2010 9:01 AM I was just wondering if anyone has any idea of something I could use to put under a small eliptical or bike or even treadmill to help soundproof it. I live on the third floor of an apartment building and the last thing I need is someone complaining about hearing me excercise above them (like if the machine were to rock or something random.. the machines at the gym get pretty noisy so I am just nervous to buy one for my apartment.)
Camarogirl67 Weird HRM Experiment - wearing for 24/7 Feb 11, 2010 2:57 PM Hey Everyone! Today I started an admittedly odd "experiment" of wearing my heart rate monitor 24/7.  It tracks "calories burned" so I thought, "Well, if I'm referencing this for my exercise, why not wear it for a whole day and see how many calories I actually burn in a day?" The results: not what I expected.  According to my HRM, in the past 5 hours I've burned 819 calories.  This averages out to 3,100 calories a day - which I know I do not burn. So my question - are hrm's really accurate in estimating calories burned during exercise?
