Grrrrrrr I SUCK!!
Last night I went to the gym.. After eating my grilled chicken and green beans.. and I felt sooo sick while i was working out. i didn't even eat that much!! .. Do y'all any ideas on what to eat for dinner if you plan on working out afterwards??? (hour or two afterwards)
I didnt do SO bad for going to the gym for the first time since christmas... I walked fast on the highest incline for 45 minutes.. burned 236 calories doing that.. then went on the bike for 15.. then I did 80 crunches.. the ones where you sit on the weight bench and put the weight straps on your shoulders and pull down..
Aunt flow just came into town and I'm craving stuff BAD!!!..
So today I had
1 Slim fast Shake in the morning 190 calories
Then i had WAY too many banana chips .. probably 600 calories worth!!
THEN... my boss and co worker invited me to lunch
i accepted and went and ate Mexican food.. I had a chicken flauta (sp?)DEEP FRIED! and probably like 20 chips and guacamole dip!
i did so bad!!!! i have no idea how many calories i just hate.. probably over 1000..
I dont know if i should eat dinner to night.. What do you guys think.. should i not eat dinner tonight or what should i eat??

YOU HAVE TO EAT DINNER. Skipping a meal will just make it worse... I was reading this article about how after a cheat you get right back on your plan and act like it never happened. Not eating just further breaks your routine. Just have a salad or something. Put it behind you and focus on your next meal--- it will be ok!!!!

1drink lots of water and fill up on veggies or salad before you move onto the other stuff. monkeyluv is right, skipping a meal makes it so much worse, then you just binge. well, that's what i end up doing.

Instead of doing the whole slim fast thing for breakfast and lunch... doing it for breakfast.. having a healthy lunch and then slim fast for dinner?
that way i can have some food in my stomach but i wont be so full to work out??

6eat lots of veggies for lunch and dinner. make sure your meals have plenty of fiber in them too. i don't eat after working out because i eat way too much then. i think i'm hungrier than i actually am.
7I would have a green salad dressed with some lemon juice, salt and pepper. And don't beat yourself up so much, you'll just feel like you have no control and jump off the wagon. You had a bad diet-day, well that's fine as long as you keep going. Tonight eat lightly and ALWAYS try to eat at least a cpl of hours before going to bed.
I also recommend having a good breakfast, otherwise you'll be starving at lunch time! Besides you'll burn calories during the day. Don't over do it though, just skip the slimfast drinks, add a fruit and a good fiber loaded cereal like Kashi Crunchy Clusters, they're delish!
For me at least the slifast shakes were useless and I only aggravated my gastritis. Good luck, keep at it!

8ooo, kashi with vanilla soymilk is my fav! tons of fiber and the soymilk has all that protein! i'm barely hungry for lunch if i have a bowl of that. mmmmmm
9my doc tells me that the best thing to do is eat smaller meals more often... she says i should be eating every 2-3 hrs (but i'm diabetic)
10most of all - go easy on yourself. Treat your body like your best friend...

11Some time before you work out, maybe an hour, it's good to have some healthy carbohydrates, since they provide energy.
After a workout, eat foods with protein, which is good for muscle development.
Just NEVER skip meals! That is the worst thing a person could do trying to get in shape.
12YOU HAVE TO EAT! think about eating small amounts more often. If you get too hungry before you start eating, you're much more likely to overeat. Lots of personal experience with that one.
I am going to the gym at 7:30 tonight. When I went out for lunch, I ordered take out. A 1/4 chicken with rice and veggies which I will eat at about 5pm. Works for me. After my workout, I'll have a salad and bowl of soup.

14Grrrrrl why don't you go to the gym FIRST and THEN eat dinner? There are loads of healthy things you can eat! Try a grilled chicken salad with lowfat italian dressing or olive oil/salt + pepper.. grilled veggies, any lean meat, tofu, veggie burgers without the bun, homemade soup.. etc etc etc!
15I'd say try to eat dinner no later than 6 or 7, and only water after that.. You could also have a piece of fruit before going to the gym if youre starving, then eat a well portioned healthy dinner when you get home.
16Karma, I eat before I go to the gym so I don't end up eating dinner at 9 o'clock. If I eat a full meal that late I don't sleep well.
If I didn't eat before I went, I'd be starving when I got home and I'd end up eating waaaay tooo much and then sleeping badly. By eating a good meal at 5 or so, when I get back, I just have a snack. Works like a charm. I also can't work out as well if I haven't eaten in 6 or 7 hours.
17girl, i always eat something light before the gym. like an apple or sometimes yoghurt. but i work out in the day. i tend to have a heavier lunch than dinner cos you move around less at night! if you work out at night tho, how bout having a snack first, then go to the gym, and when you get back, something light again??
it works for me. but im liking your idea of slim fast for bfast and dinner and something heavier for lunch. have snacks in between tho! fruits and veggies and lots of water are always gd!
