Okay so started out yesterday bad with having a slim fast, too many banana chips (dried bananas), and then going to get mexican food (chicken flauta, chips and guacamole dip)... so thats around 1800 calories just between breakfast and lunch...
Well yesterday while i was working I walked around our warehouse next door for a little over 30 minutes.. 4 times around the place is a mile and i walked around it at least that many and then through it...
After work I ate 1 morning star (vegetarian food )corn dog-150 calories, 1 pre-packaged snack fruit bowl 90 calories and about 5 baked chips- 50 cals--total for dinner--290.. not TOO bad..
I went to the gym and worked my lil tush off.. actualy used the exercise ball.. the real way.. Instead of bouncing around like a little grasshopper.. lol!..
I walked for 30 minutes..(1.5 miles)
& Ran hard for 10.. not sure of distance
I used the machine to do crunches- 125 reps
squat machine- 45 reps
& i did the floor exercises with the exercise ball (the ones in the picture above)
When i got home i was STARVING.. i remembered the day before i had made a lil concoction.. so i decided to try it.. IT was DELICIOUS!!!
recipe for frozen fruit yogurt concoction --
1 8oz container of low fat yogurt
5 large frozen strawberries
6 frozen grapes
each serving is 154 calories
recipe makes 2 servings!
-- blend.. put in plastic container.. (something that has a lid).. and put in freezer..
it was SO yummy
I only ate half of it.. it was very sweet tasted like frozen yogurt ... or kindda like sherbert.. YUM!!
so yes..
i had about 2300 calories for the entire day.. BUT i worked my butt off and learned how to make a yummy healthy treat

Zagliani
Andy Warhol for Levi's
Pierre Hardy
Great job on the work out... and the snack sounds great!!!
1One thing i would recommend is switching from dried fruit to fresh fruit. people don't realize how many more calories are in dried fruit than fresh... because there size has been condensed there is more sugar in a handful than heir fresh equivalent. Also the nutrients have already begun to be broken down throughout he drying process so they have less vitamins than their fresh counterpart. of course they are a much better snack than some other things (you could have had potato chips instead so this was clearly a good choice). I would just suggest using them in moderation. Oh and 2300 calories isn't that bad at all
TINA!
yeaa the only reason i took dried fruit to work is because it was more convinient that morning to grab that bag then to pack a lil snack of fruit.. I definitely need to just bring in real fruit..
and the frozen fruit yogurt thinggy was DELICIOUS!!
2nice. the ball exercises you have there look real good. gonna print those out.
the 30 minute walk with 10 min run sounds good. make sure you are walking fast when you walk, and instead of running hard, just run slow to moderate, but try and keep doing 40 minutes each day and shift the minutes from walking to running. Get in touch with your pulse while you do this....
Keep us posted!!
3i walk really really fast.. like almost hard to keep up with...
4well actually firt i do about 10 mins of normal pace.. 10 minutes of furthest incline on the tredmill and then i start to jog.. and by the end im doing a fast sprint so i can break a really good sweat.. then i do the cool down
keep it up 80's and good luck!
5I disagree with Arthur... running hard can be one of the best forms of exercise. Interval training can keep your heart rate up and allow your body to burn the most possible calories. I would recommend continuing to do what you are doing (the walking then running hard) eventually once you have really gotten that down you can work on getting into a more routine interval thing were you walk for five mins sprint for two wlak for five sprint for two or something like that. If you keep doing that throught he whole workout you will be dripping at the end! As that gets easier you can cut down the walking time like walk for 4 run for 2... trust me it stinks but it works sooooo well.
6TINA!
I'm with you on interval training all the way, but I think it is something you add in once you are dialed into your heart rate and are doing 30 min of arobics at the right target heart rate for you at least 3x a week.
Christina's goal is to control weight and she's trying to develop a routine that she can stick to. I think that basic aerobic conditioning, very light weight training, and stretching for flexibility for the first 90 days together with realistic expectations are probably the best path to establishing and continuing a workout routine and getting one's weight in control.
But I sure as hell aint no expert or nothing. So just sharing my thoughts, not saying I'm right.
Christina, you can find your target heart rate by using fitsugar's calculator.
Fit also posted about an article on how to go from couch to 5k in 8 weeks, which has great pointers on how to start working out and stick with it and succeed right here
7I get really bored when i work out so i usually switch things up a lot.. I wrote about it on another post but I watched "The Girls Next Door"-- Hugh Heffners girlfriends.. Kendra the youngest does a routine on the tred mill while shes running where she jogs facing forward then flips to one side and gallops on the side.. then runs backwards then flips the opposite way and gallops on the otherside.. and then keeps doing that over and over.. its a lot of fun, it keeps my attention and HOLY MOSES you get a GREAT workout doing it..even on a VERY low speed!
8good girl christina! you had a great work out so your calorie intake is fine girl!
