I was thinking...
i dont know if there is one on here.. but it would be really cool to have a weight loss support group on here for people. We could track results.. share ideas.. and use each other as a little support system.. Whos interested???

Sounds good. I don't need it per se, because I beat that problem, but love encouraging people to acheive their dreams.
What worked for me and everyone who tried is the book "Fit for Life". Been around forever but it works. I'm been size 2 for 14 years starting at 22. I toped size 10 in high school. And chefs I've worked with swear by it.
1I'm in. I may be soon over with my diet but that doesn't mean that I should start eating carelessly.
Maintenance is as important as losing weight
2Unless you've given up on the idea, i'm in.
3no im still wanting to.. had to try on dresses for my friends wedding yesterday and say the dredded words.. "i need this is a bigger size"
4i'm still in. i'm 100% in!!!
what do we need to do? start a new group or something???
a few ideas.
5work it a bit like a weekly calender. meaning, lets say i want to lose 1 kilo this week, have I succeeded it by the end of the week?
or, what food combinations are "yes" and what are "no no".
or calories info and things like that? what do you say? just a few thoughts to start the brainstorming
i just added you to the group.. all you gotta do is go to communities and then go to create stuff and blog or poll or whatever and theres a drop down menu and you select it to be posted in "weight loss support" group~!
6Do you think i should make this group private?? I mean that way ppl dont feel self conscious mentioning their weight or anything
7well, that could be a good idea cause there are indeed some people that want to talk but are shy maybe
8I need help I have been hanging on to 15 pounds from my last child who is now 8 !
9snacking is my big problem, especially chocolate!! LOVE THAT STUFF!!! I love
sweets, have any ideas for healthy alternatives? how do I get over the chocolate cravings ! any help would be appreciated, Thanks.
MaryW i used to have the same problem. and the funny thing is that I'm not so much into chocolate but the moment i started my diet and my dietitian forbade me to eat any type of chocolate, i wanted it so much. it was just in my head, i know, however the need was there
so when i told her that, she told me that i could eat Fitness bars (the ones with cereals and tips of chocolate from Nestle). Kelloggs has its own chocolate cereal bars as well but i think Fitness have more chocolate
.
10also for breakfast she told me that i could eat yogurt with chocolate Fitness cereals (not bars, the usual corn flakes).
or Special K with bits of dark chocolate. both are delicious and perfect for diet.
Lol Im such a dork you guys!!! i think i messed up on my diet!!
11You guys are hilarious. MaryW I can think of two theories to help with the chocolate cravings... again, theories, but maybe worth a shot?? 1 - if your daily food intake is properly balanced (I'll get back to you with the actual percentages, but lots of whole wheats, brown flour & brown rice, lots of veggies and only a little fruit and protein) then the body naturally stops asking for junk and extra sweets (boyfriend says it's absolutely true, he's been eating like this for about a year but says the results are RELATIVE fast). 2 - Substitute chocolate and all sugars with honey since honey doesn't stop the losing-weight process (whereas sugar does).. so you can continue your diet, get something sweet and you'll keep losing weight. Whew!!!
Last year I lost 25 kilos.. what's that, like just over 50 pounds? I was on the 'no-carbs' for 8 months but as soon as I stopped the diet I started devouring everything that I couldn't eat. I gain 15 kilos back!
I will try to take it off again the same way, but any ideas on how to
'maintain'???
12Well, last month my "diet" was over but my dietitian still keeps me in maintenance and she will continue doing so for the follow month. that means that i still go to her and she stills gives me specific foods and meals per day, with the difference that now i can cook (for instance chicken) however i like, and not roast it with only a spoon of oil.
what i want to say is,when the prescheduled weeks of the diet are over, we should kind of continue it a bit more and add just a thing or two. like some rice or party a bit with a meat sauce. but up to that.
i ate one day, a couple of sweets and a piece of a cake, and i got almost a kilo. one kilo isn't much, but i realized how easily i can take extra weight.
so i repeat for chocolate substitute, fitness chocolate bars and cereals!!!! they work!!
oh, and to this point i would like to say sorry for my english cause i know sometimes i don't make much sense but i hope you get the point.
13Makin' a lot of sense!!
I used to live in Canada, but I've been out of the country
for 4 years and although I don't have an accent (that I'm aware of, the British might dispute this!) it's tough to use proper grammar (sometimes I just make literal translations)
Thank you for the advice!
